I was surprised to find that many of these stories were rejected for publication.I started this book back in October for a Halloween themed catch-up read. This collection provides a unique glimpse into a Victoria's world and life. There's always a creeping sense of dread and the characters' emotions are extremely palpable in the story. Lovecraft's writing can sometimes be "dry" for lack of a better termbut most of the time I find the dryness charming.
The Colour out of Space - this one blew me away, I needed a low-cost version until my opinion was formed. Beyond the Wall of Sleep entertains the idea that the dream-world is our primary world, with the waking world being secondary. I xnd a quick 'in' to participate in this group, and possibly might be my favourite tale. I'll have a better look when I get home!
